 What is Temoside 20mg?

Temoside 20 is used for adults and children (above three years of age) to treat certain specific types of brain tumors. Some Brain Tumors such as glioblastoma multiforme or anaplastic astrocytoma (grade III brain tumor). It is usually used together with radiotherapy or other medications and is generally given after other cancer medicines have been tried without success.

Temozolomide is a chief active pharmaceutical constituent of Temoside. Temoside 20mg capsule is an antineoplastic agent and comes under the drug class of alkylating agents. Temozolomide binds to the DNA strands and causes DNA strands; after methylation, DNA does not produce cancer cells and stops the spreading and multiplying of cancer cells in the body.

Administration:

Temoside 20 should administer in the fasting state.

The capsules must be swallowed whole with a glass of water and must not be opened up or chewed.

If vomiting occurs after the dose is administered, a second dosage should not take that day. Anti-emetic therapy may be administered before and following the administration of TEMOSIDE Capsules.

Temozolomide is classified as Alkylating agents that are most active in the resting phase of the cell. These drugs are cell-cycle non-specific. Temozolomide is similar to the drug dacarbazine. It acts as a "pro-drug," meaning it needs to be transformed to its active (cancer-fighting) form by the body's metabolism.

It works by damaging the genetic material (DNA) of the cancer cells and stops their growth and multiplication.
